Emission data

Centre on Emission Inventories and Projections (CEIP) as a responsible Centre for the emission work within EMEP, provides extensive support to the Parties and modellers. The national sectoral and gridded emission data and expert estimates are available on Webdab of CEIP.

In accordance with the Protocol on HMs (Article 7) "Each Party within the geographical scope of EMEP shall report .... information on the levels of emissions of the heavy metals listed in annex I, using as a minimum the methodologies and the temporal and spatial resolution specified by the Steering Body of EMEP."

In accordance with the Protocol on POPs (Article 9) "Each Party within the geographical scope of EMEP shall report . . . information on the levels of emissions of persistent organic pollutants." 

 

Measurements

Following Article 6 of the Protocol on HMs "The Parties shall encourage research, development, monitoring . . . ".

Chemical Coordinating Centre (CCC) is a responsible Centre for the monitoring network of EMEP. Measurement data are available from data base of NILU.

 

Model assessment

According to the Protocol on HMs (Article 8) "EMEP shall, using appropriate models and measurements ... provide to the Executive Body calculations of transboundary fluxes and deposition of heavy metals within the geographical scope of EMEP".

According to the Protocol on POPs (Article 9) "EMEP shall provide information on the long-range transport and deposition of persistent organic pollutants".

On the basis of emission and meteorological data for 2015 pollution levels and transboundary deposition were calculated. Data are presented in the tables below.
